Boat Voltage Regulator High Voltage Reading On Bass Boat (14-16v)?

High voltage reading on bass boat (14-16v)? - boat voltage regulator

I have a 1990 bass boat with Sprint in 1990, Mercury 115 hp outboard. I bought a couple of months. The voltometer always reads high (14v) and more if the engine is running (16v). My research also gives me a warning of high voltage.

All Electonic (entry, languages, lights, bilge pumps, engine tuning) to connect the starter battery. The drive motor leaking Battey own.

No idea what could be causing this? Battery faulty wiring?

Please give me some ideas on what to check.
